Large Company of the Year Award: Business Excellence Awards

The Windsor Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 30th anniversary of the Business Excellence Awards (BEA) recently: Awards touted as the Academy Awards of the local business community.
The last award of the night was Large Company of the Year – a bit like Best Picture of the Year- and Cavalier Tool and Manufacturing was honoured to receive this prestigious award.
Due to the pandemic, the ceremony was held virtually and it proved to be a pretty exciting time. While we didn’t gather in person we are not one to let a celebration pass us by. Our management team held a pre-event cocktail party via Teams and then continued celebrating when the announcement was made of our win.
A BEA representative arrived at our President Brian Bendig’s home with the trophy and flowers when it was announced we had won.
We are also strong advocates of supporting local while growing globally. We have grown our team with the addition of MSI Oldcastle and a second design center in India. We also have offices in Latin America, and the United States. While our global footprint continues to grow, we still appreciate our home base here in Windsor-Essex. We are proud of our Canadian roots based right here in Windsor, Canada.
To win the coveted Large Company of the Year Award is an honour. And one we don’t take lightly as the award is due to the tremendous efforts by our #CavalierArmy and also the support of our home community. We were grateful to all of the texts, calls, emails, posts and the people who sent these videos – as we know a team effort makes us all stronger and better.

The Business Excellence Awards were presented by the Windsor Star and produced by Media Street Productions.
Gordon Orr, CEO of Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island, hosted this year’s awards with his trademark humour.
A total of 12 awards were handed out – with a sweep in small, mid-size and large company of the year by manufacturing companies.
Congrats to Colasanti Controls for Small Company of the Year and Brave Control Solutions for Mid-Size Company of the Year.

“It was definitely a memorable night,” says Cavalier President Brian Bendig. “We talk about The Cavalier Way representing People, Process and Equipment so it was satisfying to see the people in manufacturing celebrated by our broader business community.”
Our staff are definitely top notch and we know our success is credited to them and we have an incredible management team all working together.
So, thank you Windsor-Essex. “
